According to traditional Chinese medicine, meridian is a path through which the life-energy known as "qi" is believed to flow. It is essential for human being’s health. Meridians regulate energy flow, balance Yin and Yang, connect inner body organs, in a word, it's essential for healthy life. Meanwhile our spine is regarded as the second "life line" for human beings. It's the central part of kinesiology, shock absorber, protector for CNS. In this class we will share some interesting spine work adopting the insightful concept of TCM Meridians.
The meridians and their collaterals have functions to link the internal organs with the limb, to carry qi and blood to nourish the body, to conduct the sensation to adjust excess or deficiency in the body, and to prevent the body from the attacks by exogenous evils. Due to our inner organs' diseases, excessive climate changes, emotional imbalances etc our meridian may get blocked or not functioning properly, according to TCM concept we can treat disease and remain healthy by application of acupuncture & moxibustion to adjust the function of the meridians and collaterals, blood and Qi, and internal organs. In this class we would share a traditional Taoism way to channelizing meridians.
